Peter Brooks: Peter has been co-owner /manager of Driftwater in Tasmania with his wife Karen since its inception in 2012. Now back in Victoria after 10 years, his guiding time is shared between Tasmania and Victoria. Peter began fly fishing as a teenager. After completing a degree in Biological Science he worked as a freshwater biologist for 6 years before entering private enterprise. Since then he has fly fished extensively in many parts of the world in both salt and freshwater. Peter loves fly fishing and sharing time on the water with clients. His great joy is seeing a wild brown trout rise slowly to eat a dry fly. In the last 6 years Euro nymphing with all it’s different strategies has been a growing passion. |
Karen Brooks:
Karen has been fly fishing for twenty plus years throughout Australia and many parts of the world, both salt and freshwater. As owner/manager of Driftwater since 2012, Karen has been guiding and teaching clients from Australia and around the world. Karen is a Certified Casting Instructor with Fly Fishers International and a dedicated competition angler who has represented Australia in the World Masters Fly Fishing Championship in South Africa 2019, Commonwealth Fly Fishing Championship in New Zealand 2020 and more recently captained the Australian Ladies Team at the inaugural Ladies World Fly Fishing Championships in Norway 2022. Karen is an avid fly tyer and ties commercially. Karen is passionate about growing the female fly fishing community in Australia. |
